Following the flow: From molecular clouds to protostars

Understanding how stars and planetary systems form requires tracing the physical and chemical evolution of material across an enormous range of spatial scales, from molecular clouds down to embedded protostellar systems. This challenge can be addressed through multi-scale and multi-wavelength observations combined with detailed physical-chemical modelling. In this talk I will give an overview of how employing state of the art observatories, such as JWST, ALMA, NOEMA, and the IRAM 30m telescope, help us to disentangle the complex processes of low- and high-mass star formation in different galactic environments.
