AGN jets in the era of SKA

Since their discovery, active galactic nuclei (AGN) have frequently been in the focus of astronomical observations. Radio interferometers have transformed our understanding of this activity phase, including relativistic jets, and its role in the evolution of galaxies. These jets play a crucial role in regulating star formation and redistributing energy and as such shaping the evolution of galaxies and their environment. In my talk I will highlight how the capabilities of the SKA, standalone and as part of a VLBI array, will transform our capabilities to study the co-evolution of AGN jets and their hosts. I will discuss how, combined with existing radio facilities, we will be able to trace jets from their formation to their dissipation.
