Higher-order Functions in Large-Scale Structure

In this talk, I will present motivation and recent developments in higher-order statistics for large-scale structure. I will introduce several complementary approaches, including the N-point correlation function as well as various composite-field statistics. These observables have sensitivity to different geometric configurations, and be complementary to exploring underlying physics. Finally, I will present two motivating applications. The first is to apply higher-order statistics in ongoing galaxy survey to improve the cosmological constraints. The second is the search for parity-violating signatures on cosmological scales, illustrating how novel statistical observables can provide new windows into fundamental physics.
