A Radio and X-ray View of the Morphology and Emission of G296.5+10.0

G296.5+10.0 is a high-latitude bilateral shell-type SNR with a symmetry axis almost perpendicular to the Galactic Plane. Its two bright opposing limbs, faint central emission, and ordered radio structure make it an important target for investigating the role of magnetic fields in SNR evolution. Although the remnant has been extensively studied at radio, X-ray, and optical wavelengths, much of our current understanding is based on observations made more than a decade ago. Previous radio polarization studies showed that G296.5+10.0 is significantly polarized and possesses an organized magnetic-field structure, but were limited in sensitivity, angular resolution, and Faraday-rotation coverage. We revisit G296.5+10.0 using new radio and X-ray survey data to study its morphology, emission, and magnetic field structure in greater detail. The SRG/eROSITA All-Sky survey provides a sensitive view of the remnant across its full extent and reveals excess emission beyond the southern shell. At radio wavelength, MWA/GLEAM-X shows the remnant below 300 MHz for the first time, while ASKAP/EMU offers a sharper view of its total-intensity structure at 1400 MHz. ASKAP/POSSUM enables a new broadband polarization analysis, allowing us to construct detailed maps of polarized intensity, fractional polarization, and Rotation Measure/Faraday depth across the remnant. In this talk, I will present the updated radio and X-ray view of G296.5+10.0, with particular emphasis on the new POSSUM polarization results.
