AG2026 Call for Splinter Meetings

We hereby invite proposals from colleagues who are interested in organising a Splinter Session at the Annual Meeting of the German Astronomical Society 2026. For full details: https://ag2026.astronomische-gesellschaft.de

Session organisers should not count on financial support from the AG or the AG2026 organisers for attending the conference, neither for themselves nor for their invited speakers. Registration fee waivers and/or travel grants will be available on request and treated equally with the other applicants.

Organisers must inform their invited speakers of this policy.

The deadline for splinter proposals is January 31st, 2026.

Abstract 

By submitting this letter of intent, you acknowledge that:
- Organisers of successful splinter sessions cannot expect to receive any form of financial support (including fee waivers, travel support etc) from the AG, neither for themselves nor for the invited speakers. Organisers or invited speakers are of course welcome to apply for external sources of funding or for the AG grant program, which provides need-based support for a limited number of attendees. Organisers must inform their invited speakers of this policy.
- While AG2026 will offer a hybrid component, organisers of successful splinter sessions cannot expect that their specific session will be offered in hybrid. Organisers must inform their invited speakers about this policy.
