Annual Meeting of the Astronomische Gesellschaft 2026

The International Annual Meeting of the German Astronomical Society will be hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics, in Garching during the week September 07-11, 2026.

The meeting will include invited plenary talks, splinter sessions, poster presentations, and working group meetings of the Astronomical Society. We encourage all participants to join the meeting in person. Online attendance will be possible for the plenary sessions only but not for the splinter meetings.

The conference will be held on the Campus Garching in the TUM Mechanical Engineering Building, Boltzmannstr. 15, 85748 Garching b. München.

Call for Splinter Meetings

The organizers welcome suggestions from members of astronomical institutes for splinter meetings. Please, use the following form to submit your proposal including relevant information (name and institutions of organizers, suggested topic, short abstract) until January 31st, 2026.

Splinter meetings will be held in parallel during Tuesday to Friday afternoons. Please, see the program overview for available time slots.
